DrugCard’s Bot Officially Verified by Cloudflare

DrugCard is pleased to share a technical milestone: our web crawler, DrugCardBot, has been officially verified by Cloudflare and is now listed in the public Cloudflare Bots Directory as a Verified bot.

DrugCardBot is the crawler DrugCard uses to collect data for medical literature monitoring — it scans public medical sources every day to surface publications relevant to our clients’ pharmacovigilance needs.

Verification means the bot has passed Cloudflare’s identity-confirmation process under the Web Bot Auth standard: its requests are cryptographically signed, and its identity is publicly documented and verifiable.

This recognition is backed by how DrugCardBot actually behaves: it never accesses a single site more than once per second, crawls each domain sequentially with no concurrent requests, and adapts its request rate based on how a server responds — all to avoid overwhelming any site’s infrastructure. Every request carries a clear, consistent user-agent (DrugCardBot/1.0), and site owners can always reach out to us directly to adjust crawl frequency or agree on custom rules.

What this means in practice: websites protected by Cloudflare’s infrastructure now recognize DrugCardBot as trusted and let its requests through without additional challenges or blocks. For us, this translates into more consistent and complete access to sources — and, in turn, more accurate and timely literature monitoring for our clients.

We see this verification as another step toward transparency and reliability across all AI components of the DrugCard platform — a principle that underpins how we build technology for pharmacovigilance.
